Dancing Script — the most reliable "looks handwritten" script on Google Fonts. Bouncy, warm and readable even at medium sizes. Perfect for quotes and cards.
Great Vibes — sweeping formal copperplate. This is the classic wedding invitation script: elegant, tall and unmistakably "invite". Use it big; it's a display face.
Caveat — quick, casual marker handwriting. Great for annotations, notes and playful headings where you want real human looseness.
Pacifico — a sunny retro script with smooth 1950s curves. Friendly brand marks, ice-cream logos, anything warm.

When cursive works — and when it doesn't
Cursive fonts shine in short, decorative bursts: a one-line quote, a heading, a logo wordmark, an invitation, a card. They fail as body copy — joined scripts are hard to read in paragraphs and at small sizes. If you need long readable text, keep cursive for accents and pair it with a plain sans like Inter or Open Sans.
Watch out for ALL CAPS — many scripts have no true uppercase and will look broken. Keep cursive in lowercase or title case. Also, skip the clichés: the swirly "wedding" look only fits actual weddings or romantic brands, not corporate work.
How to pair a cursive font
- Pick a cursive font for one thing — the heading or the accent word. Never more.
- Choose a neutral sans for everything else. Lato, Manrope or Work Sans won't fight the script.
- Give the cursive room to breathe — a size up, some line spacing, and plenty of whitespace. Scripts look their worst crammed against other text.

Yes. Scripts like Pacifico, Satisfy and Great Vibes are popular logo choices. Re-read the OFL on the official page; usage is free, you just can't resell the font file itself.
Why does my cursive font look pixelated or weird?
You're likely viewing a single weight at a huge size, or the font lacks a real uppercase. Scripts are meant for moderate display sizes — keep them under ~100px and avoid forcing bold.
What's the difference between cursive and handwriting fonts?
Roughly: cursive scripts are joined-up and elegant (Dancing Script, Great Vibes); handwriting fonts are looser, marker-like and more casual (Caveat, Shadows Into Light). Both are in this collection.
